M. Dave Daoust

1969 – 2024

David Allen Rejean Daoust, 55, of Montreal, QC passed away at his home in Kanata, Ontario the morning of July 12 th of 2024.

“Big Dave”, cherished son of Gilles and Elizabeth “Betty” Daoust, beloved brother to Michael Daoust (Laura Demetriou) and loving husband of Sonya Racicot Daoust. He was born at Saint Mary’s Hospital in 1969 and raised in Verdun, QC (Montreal, QC).

Dave is survived by his wife Sonya (Kanata, ON), his mother Betty, his brother Mike (Laura),and his children David (Meaghan), Derek (Mandy), Devin, Dedra, Dilan Daoust-Kyle and Matthew Jerkovic. He is also survived by his nieces Katie and Nicole Daoust, and 7 grandchildren, Addison, Brady, Maverek, Ashton, Alyvia, Ainslee and Madden all residing in Montreal, QC.

“Big Dave” was a loving father and a cherished member of his community, spending many years coaching football. Many will have fond memories of their time with him as he not only helped his children grow but provided a father figure to so many other children in the community. While he wore many hats, he most recently worked for Kanata Stoneworks LTD as a dump truck driver and he loved his job. He also loved fishing, visiting family and especially playing with his grandchildren. When he was around it always seemed like someone was on his lap listening to his next joke.

David will be deeply missed by his family and friends and anyone who got time to be around him. His love was contagious, and he was always someone who can make any moment a better one with his presence.

The family will receive condolences at J.J. Cardinal Funeral home, 560, Lakeshore Drive, Dorval QC H9S2B3 on Saturday July20 from 11: 00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of life in the chapel.
