{"id":18761,"date":"2020-12-31T13:40:34","date_gmt":"2020-12-31T18:40:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jjcardinal.ca\/mme-nicole-birs-lauzon\/"},"modified":"2020-12-31T13:43:09","modified_gmt":"2020-12-31T18:43:09","slug":"mme-nicole-birs-lauzon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jjcardinal.ca\/en\/mme-nicole-birs-lauzon\/","title":{"rendered":"Mrs. Nicole Birs Lauzon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>1934-2020<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is with heavy heart that the family of Nicole Birs Lauzon announces her passing on December 29th at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence in Pointe Claire following a courageous battle with cancer.\u00a0 She was the loving wife of Raymond Lauzon for 54 years with whom she shared many adventures following him to many countries thanks to his work with Bell Canada.\u00a0 \u00a0Nicole was an avid skier and tennis player, a passionate Montreal Canadians\u2019 fan who rarely missed a game on television.<\/p>\n<p>Her son in law recognized in her a kindred soul when they first met 11 years ago.\u00a0 They both had clear views on how things should be done; there was a right way and a wrong way.\u00a0 Naturally they disagreed, even butted heads, but always within a framework of mutual respect and love.<\/p>\n<p>Her daughter, Natalie, always knew that her mom was there for her and could call and talk.\u00a0 She will miss that terribly.\u00a0 And that is the most awful thing about death and loss, how complete and total it is.\u00a0 We carry on, as we must, but the longing never really subsides.<\/p>\n<p>She will be forever missed by her devoted daughter, Natalie (Forston) and her grandson, Kerner of Vancouver along with her siblings, Paulo (V\u00e9ronique) and Denise (Maurice).\u00a0 She was predeceased by her brother, Pierre (Marie-Jos\u00e9e).<\/p>\n<p>Nicole was a long-time resident of Dorval where in earlier years she was a member of the\u00a0Dorval Tennis Club, Saint-Veronica\u2019s Seniors\u2019 group, \u00a0dedicated volunteer of the Meals on Wheels program and \u00a0an active contributor to the Surrey Knitters.\u00a0She leaves a legacy of love for her grandson and host of beautiful, hand knitted sweaters for him.\u00a0 They will be tucked away for the day that he has children.<\/p>\n<p>She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and\u00a0dear friends.\u00a0 \u00a0Special thanks to Nurse Louise Godbout of NOVA and Father Fred\u00a0Kirouack of St. Veronica\u2019s Parish.\u00a0 Due to the pandemic restrictions, a funeral service\u00a0will be held at a later date when family and friends can safely gather.<\/p>\n<p>Contributions in her memory can be made to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.novawi.org\/copie-de-faire-un-don\">NOVA West Island<\/a> or the <a href=\"https:\/\/residencesoinspalliatifs.com\/en\/donate-now\/\">Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>R\u00c9SIDENCE FUN\u00c9RAIRE J.J.
