It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Amanda Voss from a brain hemorrhage on January 7th<\/sup>, 2021 – age 42.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n She leaves to mourn her devoted parents, Gunter Voss and Maciejka Slawinska-Voss; her loving brother, Christopher Voss and sister-in-law, Martine Tawfik; her long time partner, best friend and soulmate of 23 years, Mike McCatty; her grandma, Elfie Voss; her maternal uncle, Chester Niski and Elisabeth Plourde and the many cousins in Poland and Germany she hoped to visit when Covid-free travel resumes. Also feeling her loss will be her many friends from childhood as well as those she made while working for Bombardier Aerospace and elsewhere.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Amanda\u2019s enthusiastic smile could light up a room! Lovely to look at, creative, genuine and\u00a0smart, she had the kindest of hearts. Her effervescence and commitment extended to her\u00a0management job at Bombardier where she rose to director level prior to being diagnosed with\u00a0leukemia. \u00a0One of her superiors commented: \u201cWe were very fortunate to work with such a\u00a0wonderful person.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Her last two and a half years of combatting AML (acute myelogenic leukemia) were heroic!\u00a0Her tenacity and optimism in beating this terrible blood cancer impressed her closest as well\u00a0as the staff and doctors at both the Jewish General and Maisonneuve Rosemont hospital\u00a0where she got her stem cell transplant last summer. No complaints, always looking to\u00a0tomorrow! To quote her ncology hematologist, Dr. Cassis: \u201cWhat determination and what a\u00a0fighter! So near to recovery and now this!\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Her illness intensified her faith. Tanya, a family friend, commented: \u201cThe best exchange I had\u00a0with Amanda was a faith-in-God conversation at her brother\u2019s wedding in 2019. She said that in\u00a0her tough days with leukemia, God always sent her \u201cthe right person\u201d just to know that He is\u00a0with her. \u00a0She fought the good fight of faith, leaving a beautiful legacy. She will be missed by so\u00a0many!\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Thanks to all at both hospitals for trying so very hard! And thank you Father Sabbath for being\u00a0there!
