She leaves her children Paul (Diane Reid) and Tina (David Wolfson), her 3 grandsons Neil (Stephanie Glover) and Jason Drake and, Julian Wolfson (April Wolfson), and 5 great-grandchildren (Nathan and Josh Drake in Montreal, and Anabelle, Aria and Aidan Wolfson in Minneapolis).

Born in Halifax, Yorkshire, England, our mom retained her strong Yorkshire accent throughout her life. She was a mom ahead of her time, working full time before it was common and shepherding the family emigration from England to Canada (Pointe Claire, Quebec) in 1967. In 1991 our parents moved from Ile Perrot, Quebec to Merrickville,
Ontario where Cy and Rhoda (or Rye and Soda as they became known) were active volunteers in the community and where they thrived on country life. Mom was an expert knitter of Fisherman knit sweaters which she either sold or gave to family and friends, and an award winning gardener. We moved her to Montreal in late 2019. In 2020, the pandemic took a heavy toll on her and she declined rapidly and was moved to CHSLD Nazaire-Piché in July 2020 with dementia. Fortunately, we were never prevented from visiting her and she was cared for with an abundance of love. She lived with advanced kidney cancer for 11 years and never complained but finally, life was too much for her. We’ll miss her.

We are grateful to the staff at CHSLD Nazaire-Piché for the loving care they provided over the past two years.

There will be no funeral or memorial service. In lieu of gifts or flowers, donations in Rhoda’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.

RÉSIDENCE FUNÉRAIRE J.J.
