It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sheila Bonney (nee Ashton) in her 74th\u00a0year. Beloved wife of the late Douglas Bonney, Sheila died with her daughters by her side after a\u00a0courageous and private battle with cancer.<\/p>\n
Sheila is predeceased by her parents, Ruth and Alex Ashton, the love of her life, Douglas, and her\u00a0brother Kerry.<\/p>\n
She is survived by her loving daughters Michaela and Alexis (Darryl), her brother Michael (Louise),\u00a0sister-in-law Nadia, her niece and nephews and their families. Also survived by Doug\u2019s daughters\u00a0Glenys (Peter), Susan and his grand-daughter Rachel.<\/p>\n
Of all her life`s accomplishments, her role as a grandmother is what she treasured most. Her loss\u00a0is felt heavily by her cherished grandchildren Hannah, Emma, Eryn, Holly, Kyra, and Gabriel.<\/p>\n
Sheila was a testament to the social working profession, tirelessly striving to improve her
\ncommunity. Her professional integrity renowned, she was a mentor to many.<\/p>\n
She will forever be remembered for her love of family, dear friendships, passion for travel,
\nappreciation of the arts, commitment to social justice issues, adoration of her cats, and her love\u00a0of a great book.<\/p>\n
Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Tuesday January 3rd, 2023, at JJ Cardinal Funeral Home in\u00a0Dorval. Cremation has already taken place.<\/p>\n
