In Loving Memory of Maria Meluch Ondrechak (1948-2023)<\/p>\n
With sorrow we announce the passing of Maria at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence, at the age of 74.\u00a0 Maria fought her battle with cancer using the strength and determination she was known for.\u00a0 Beloved wife of the late Steve Ondrechak.\u00a0 May she rest in peace.<\/p>\n
She leaves behind her son Yuri (Crystal) and her grandchildren Daniela and Gabriela.\u00a0 She will also be deeply missed by her sister Fanika and brother Janik (Gabi), her husband\u2019s children Shonagh and Ian (Kimberly), as well as many sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces, other relatives, friends, students, and neighbours.<\/p>\n
Maria was well known for her hard work.\u00a0 She left a legacy in so many people\u2019s lives teaching piano and playing for the enjoyment and wishes of many in her community who respected her and she them.\u00a0 She took great pleasure in giving her time and energy to those around her and loved to be out and about enjoying life!\u00a0 Of course, she will always be especially remembered for her culinary skills and excellent attention brought to every feast.<\/p>\n
Please join us for her visitation to be held on Friday, March 10, 2023, from 2pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm, at J.J. Cardinal Funeral Home in Dorval, 560 Bord-du-Lac, Dorval, Quebec H9S 2B3, 514-631-1511 (www.jjcardinal.ca).\u00a0 In accordance with Maria\u2019s wishes, a cremation has taken place. There will be a private memorial and burial at a later date.<\/p>\n
Heartfelt thanks go to all the friends who formed special relationships with her in her later years and who aided during the challenges of the past year.<\/p>\n
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the many doctors, nurses, and staff at the Jewish General Hospital for their wonderful support and exceptional care.\u00a0 Special thanks to all the home care workers and nurses from the CLSC in Laval, to the Centre Scama in Laval, as well as to the Coop\u00e9rative de soutien \u00e0 domicile de Laval, for their extraordinary kindness and their compassionate care.<\/p>\n
Appreciation to J.J. Cardinal Funeral Home in Dorval, for their guidance and gentle consideration during this difficult time.<\/p>\n
