Survived by her daughter, Lynda (Donald Michel), son Keith (Gwen Barker), grandchildren<br \/>\nTara (Adam Stein), Christopher and Colin Benjamin, Shayna and Devon Michel, and great granddaughter, Charlotte Stein. Preceded in death by her loving husband D. Roy Benjamin of Lachine, brothers Jimmy and Tony.<\/p>\n<p>Born 10 May 1924 in Lachine, QC to James and Hilda Finn, Audrey graduated with a B.Ed. from MacDonald College in 1963. She taught first at Meadowbrook School in Lachine where she established the PSBGM\u2019s first Industrial Arts program. After obtaining her M.A. in Education, she taught art and art methods as a member of McGill\u2019s Faculty of Education. She was involved in developing and teaching Art Education programs for First Nation Peoples and was well-loved by many Cree and Inuit students from indigenous communities across Northern Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n<p>There will be a celebration of Audrey\u2019s life on Saturday, June 9 starting at 9:30 am to visit with family and friends at J.J. Cardinal Funeral Home, 2125 rue Notre-Dame, Lachine, QC (www.jjcardinal.ca 514-639-1511) followed by a Celebration of Life at the chapel of the funeral home at 12:30 pm. Anyone wishing to speak or have something read during the Celebration of Life is asked to contact Keith at\u00a0KDB@OPENarchitects.com\u00a0by Wednesday June 6. All are welcome to attend the burial that same day at 2:00 pm at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 701 ave Donegani, Pointe-Claire, QC.<\/p>\n<p>In lieu of flowers a contribution in Audrey\u2019s name to Canadian Feed the Children, would be greatly appreciated at www.canadianfeedthechildren.ca 1-800-387-1221.<\/p>\n<p>The family would like to thank the many generations of people who became her close friends. We would especially like to thank the management and staff at Westmount One for the outstanding care and service they always provided.
