1933-2024
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of George Zubchynsky on June 5, 2024 at the age of 91. He passed away peacefully at C.H.S.L.D. Vigi Santé in Pierrefonds, Quebec.
He was predeceased by brothers Peter, Nicholas, Christopher and sister Valentina. Beloved uncle of Tanya, Lara, the late Bohdan (survived by Valerie), Andrew (Irene) and the late “Georgie”. He is also survived by many grand-nieces and grand-nephews as well as relatives in Ukraine.
Born in Dubno, Ukraine, George also lived in Poland, Germany and Belgium before immigrating in 1953 to Lachine, Quebec, Canada. His life was very good and happy in Quebec. He spoke many languages and was deeply involved in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Saint George in Lachine and especially loved his role as director of the church choir. George was a kind, hardworking, generous, gentle and caring person who was liked by everyone.
We are truly grateful to all of the first-floor staff of C.H.S.L.D. Vigi Santé in Pierrefonds for the wonderful care George received.
Thursday June 13: 2:00-5:00 pm (visitation) and 7:00-9:00 pm (visitation and Panakhyda) at J.J. Cardinal Funeral Home, 2125 Notre-Dame, Lachine, QC, 514-639-1511.
Friday June 14: FUNERAL SERVICE 11:00 am at Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St-George, 880 Saint-Antoine, Lachine, QC H8S 1T1, followed by burial at St-George Ukrainian Orthodox
Cemetery, 24 th Avenue and Duff-Court, Lachine.
