Friends of Donna Lee Collins (nee Coleman) are sad to announce her passing on October 24, 2022. Daughter of Alma Rhoda Cook and Cecil Coleman of Westhill, Ontario, Donna-Lee enjoyed a 55-year marriage with the handsome David Micheal Collins who she lost tragically in 2018.
Donna Lee was known for her colourful calligraphy, her crocheted masterpieces and her love of puzzles and beadwork. She was an avid doll collector, and a philanthropist, who especially supported the welfare of animals, through organizations such as the World Wildlife Foundation and the SPCA.
Her final years were challenged by multiple tragedies, including a house fire, the loss of her mobility, and the unexpected loss of her husband. However, Donna Lee held her own through it all, and thanks to the support of the team at Manoir Beaconsfield, les Petit Freres and West Island Citizen Advocacy she was able to find some fulfillment in her life.
Her sense of humour, even in trying times, will be sadly missed.
A ceremony will be held on January 3 at 4 PM, at JJ Cardinal in Lachine where she will finally reunite with her beloved Dave.
