On April 8, 2020 at CHSLD Herron at the age of 96 years, following a short illness.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Allo, a beloved aunt, great-aunt and great great-aunt to her large extended family, a caring member of the LaDuke family and good friend to many. Jean was the daughter of the late George Frederick Allo and the late Estelle Claire LaDuke.
Jean leaves to mourn her loving nephews, Wayne Allo (Sharon Hanley) and Frederick Allo (Dyanne Jack); much loved great-nieces and great-nephews, Anna Lyon, David Allo (Cyndy), Elizabeth Allo (Joseph) Christine Allo, Jeffrey Allo (Kimberley) and Stephen Allo (Jana) and thirteen great great-nieces and nephews whose antics and conversations made her laugh and whose accomplishments made her proud.
Jean was predeceased by her beloved brother Gordon Frederick Allo (Helen Hogg), and her two sisters and constant companions in life, Audrey (Lindsay Morris) and Claire (Kenneth Fraser) and her cherished niece, Judith Fraser and her husband Michael Lyon.
We wish to give special mention to Marie Rivest, Jean’s long-time neighbour and Scrabble partner who visited her regularly at Herron, Carole Talbot and Chuck Johnston who visited weekly and with whom she shared her favourite sherry and lunch on Fridays and Susan Somerville who also visited Jean weekly.
Jean was a very independent woman with a great sense of humour. She lived in her family home on Hingston for 85 years, before moving to Herron in 2015. She loved to travel and enjoyed a good party with family and friends to whom she was fiercely loyal.
At her request, Jean has been cremated. A memorial service will take place at a future date when it is possible to celebrate Jean’s life as it deserves to be celebrated. TBA.
