I am very sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. As a long-time professor at McGill in the Department of Civil Engineering, I worked with Bob for many years. I remember him well as a dedicated teacher, a consummate professional, and as a great leader. I saw him impact so many people as a professor, as the Associate Dean (Student Affairs), and as the Chair of our department. Even in the midst of difficult challenges, he navigated the difficulties, and with his strong intellect and his unique style, he always managed to bring people together.

To all of Bob’s family and friends, please accept my deepest condolensces. My hope is that even in this time of sadness, you can reflect on the great person that Bob was, and on the very important legacy that he has left behind, both personally and professionally.
