July 12, 1960 – May 3, 2020
With sadness and shock, we announce the passing of Susan Weltevreden on May 3, 2020. Too young, so much lay ahead. Susan is survived by her children, Peter Emerson and Alexa Grace, her sister Eileen Weltevreden Davies, her mother Patricia Flanagan Weltevreden, and her husband Peter Maag. Susan, born in Jamaica, Queens, NY, revered nature, spirituality, and the memory and heritage of her father Willem Weltevreden. We will remember Susan forever. She was taken from us long before her dreams could be realized.
A ceremony for those who feel the void she has left and wish to cherish her remembrance will be planned in the future.
In honour of her memory, if you wish, please help any local organization (Le Nichoire Hudson or Ecomuseum Sainte-Anne-deBellevue for example) that protects our wildlife.

I had the chance to practice yoga with her often, so endearing… Susan was for me a model of gentleness and inspiration; she pushed me to exceed my limits, with the greatest respect. I mourn her passing and remember her passion for this age-old discipline. I wish to pass on to the family my words of support and encouragement in this ordeal. Namaste dear Susan
