1943 – 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dale LeBlanc on January 30, 2024. Dale passed away peacefully at the Jewish General Hospital with her daughter, Jennnifer, and son-in-law, Jon, at her side.
She is the cherished daughter of the Late Juanita Chenier (Gerald) and Fred Dettmers. Dale will be joining her husband Ronald Durocher, her sister, Cheryl Dettmers, and her daughter Andrea LeBlanc, all of whom predeceased her. She leaves behind her loving brothers Fred Dettmers (Brenda), Danny Dettmers (Sylvie) and Dean Dettmers; her sister-in-law Manon Desfosses; her daughter Jennifer (Jon), her four precious grandchildren, Michael, Melissa, Victoria, and Cassandra; as well as her nieces, nephews, their children and grandchildren.
Dale began her career working for Canadian Pacific Railway, but once married she devoted herself to raising her family which was a full-time job caring for her precious special needs daughter Andrea. She managed to find time to volunteer, contributing to various parent-teacher associations at her daughters’ schools and working at the Lakeshore General Hospital’s emergency room, while also continuing her college education. She reentered the workforce holding various positions and completed her career working for many years at Canadian Tire.
Determined, resilient, strong willed, and a fighter describe Dale as she faced the last 19 years of her life battling Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. Beautiful, loving, caring, compassionate, and sweet are the words used to describe her by those who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
Visitation will take place at J.J.Cardinal Funeral Home, 560 Lakeshore Drive, Dorval, on Friday March 8th, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday March 9th from 12-1 p.m. followed by a memorial service.
