Mme Marilyn MacGillivray

1950-2020


It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marilyn MacGillivray on May 12, 2020.

She leaves to mourn her sister Elizabeth (Robert Kyle) and her brother Robert (Elizabeth Ogston),  her nieces and nephews: Nancy (Richard Dickinson); Robert MacGillivray and Donald MacGillivray, Brenda Chapman, Bruce (Carol Sneddon) Kyle, Bonnie Kyle and Carly (Chris Barnards) MacGillivray as well as her grand nieces and nephews: Eric Dickinson, Kenneth Dickinson, Cailine (Alex Brodeur) Michelle Kyle, Kyle Chapman and Caileigh Kyle. Leaving behind her great nieces and nephews Ashton and Alison Brodeur. She was predeceased by her parents John D. MacGillivray and Mary Margaret Cameron, and her brother Kenneth MacGillivray. Marilyn was beloved by many including extended family, many lifelong friends and numerous work colleagues. Retired from a dedicated lifetime career with Nortel. After retirement she volunteered at West Island Palliative Care and had a big heart for: I can Dream Theatre company and for Rosie’s Animal Adoption. Marilyn was known by all as being a genuinely kind-hearted and loving person.

Due to the current circumstances, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements entrusted to J.J. Cardinal Funeral Home.

    My deepest sympathies to the family. Marilyn and I were not only work mates but personal friends. We had many road trips together that saw us laughing and crying at the same time. She will be so missed. She always had a way to find humor in all that she did. Miss you my old friend.

    My deepest sympathy to the family. I worked with Marilyn at Nortel. She was such a kind wonderful lady with a great sense of humour. RIP Marilyn you will be missed by all.
