Mme Monica Lasota (née Firlotte)

1938-2021

In the early morning of Friday, May 21, after a long and courageous fight against MS, our beloved mother, Monica, was gently called home by Our Lord.  She joins her beloved husband John who predeceased her in 1995.  She is survived by her adoring children, Kevin and Gail, and her grandson Sami whom she fiercely loved and adored.  She is also survived by sisters Eileen and Joan, and brother Bernard as well as many nieces and nephews.

She faced all challenges that MS presented her with an unparalleled dignity, strength, never-failing good humor and positivity.  Her strong faith in God and love of family helped her through the many challenges she faced through the years.  Family was always her top priority and she would light up every time she saw or spoke to her beloved Sami.

She will be forever remembered for her smile, positive outlook and generosity of spirit.  She will be greatly missed by her family, who love her very much.  We are so blessed to have had her in our lives and will cherish our memories of her.

The family would like to take this chance to thank the staff of 3rd floor Pavillion Camille Lefebvre for their care of their precious mother through the years of her stay.

In memory of Monica, you can make a memorial donation in lieu of flowers to the MS Society of Canada.

It was a priviledge to know her. It easy to love Monica because she was stellar in so many ways ! Mostly her big, loving, genuine heart and sharp wit . It is Impossible to encapsulate in words how very special she was and how missed she will be. My sincere condolences to the entire family. hugs Claudia

So very sorry for your loss. Aunt Monica will have so many friends and family members welcoming her on the other side. I will always remember her as being warm and welcoming to me when I first was introduced to the Lasota family. God bless.
