1953-2023
Joyce Kat passed away peacefully on June 15th 2023 at her home in Lachine. She is survived by her partner Don Newman, and their children Richard (Yorleni) and Laura.
Joyce grew up in Valois, studied education at McGill and spent her entire career as an elementary school teacher in Montreal, teaching at Cedarcrest, Beechwood, and Lasalle Junior before retiring. She was a caring and kind person truly loved by everyone who had the opportunity to know her.
There will be a celebration of life on Sunday June 25th at J.J. Cardinal, 560, Bord du Lac – Lakeshore Drive, Dorval, QC, H9S2B3, between 1-3pm, with a short ceremony between 1:30-2pm, followed by tea & coffee.

My sincere condolences to Don, Richard, Laura and the entire family. I met Joyce several times at my sister Silvana’s home in Lachine. Joyce was a very gentle and kind lady with a beautiful smile. May she rest in peace. Gianna & Giovanni Dolce

I have not seen Joyce since high school. She was a gentle soul, always very kind. I can still picture her smiling face. My sympathies to her family.
