Mr. Jean-Pierre Bertrand

Mr. Jean-Pierre Bertrand

1950-2021

It is with profound sadness that we share the peaceful passing of Jean-Pierre Bertrand, at home with his beloved wife Sheila, on January 6th, at age 70.
He leaves to mourn also his dear brother Gilles, sister-in-law Lise, and his much loved nephews Pierre-Sylvain (Bridgette, Katie, Hadley) and Mathieu (Jessica, Ethan, Camden), his God Daughter Ava, cousins, and many dear and cherished friends on both sides of the Atlantic.

Jean-Pierre had a fulfilling career with Air Canada, and greatly enjoyed many years of retirement. He loved his home, but also travelling, and visited many different countries,
getting along with people from all walks of life and cultures.

He was a very special man, with an ability to bring joy to children, smiles to the faces of the elderly, and loyal to many wonderful friends. His sense of humor, warmth and kindness will be remembered by so many.  He touched the lives of numerous people, and will be so sadly missed, but memories of his smile, generosity, kindness and willingness to help others will always be remembered.

After a long and courageous battle with acute myeloid leukemia, may he now rest In peace, and be reunited with his much loved sister and parents.

Our gratitude and heartfelt thanks go to the wonderful nurses, doctors and entire Hematology/Oncology team at the Royal Victoria Hospital, and Cedars Cancer Centre. Our thanks and immense appreciation also go the dedicated palliative nurses of the CLSC Dorval/Lachine.

Due to the pandemic, a celebration of Jean-Pierre’s very special life will be held at a later date.

If desired, donations in his memory may be made to Cedars Cancer Centre, or the Leukemia & Lymphoma society of Canada  –  llscanada.org.
