It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Boara on October 29, 2026.
Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert (Bob), her son, Richard (Anne MacLennan), and her sister, Florence (Ken Kelly). She will be dearly missed by her daughter Elaine (Joe Lawrence), grandchildren Kimberly (Paul Alexander), Caeleigh, Shaughna, Jaguar, Beau, Hudson and Lil’ Joe, sister Betty-Ann (Dave Mulholland), as well as many nieces, nephews, dear friends, and extended family. A proud Canadian and hometown girl from Ville Saint-Pierre and Lachine, Joan built communities. She served and was there for others, a dedication that was recognized in 1991 when she was awarded Volunteer of the Year (Cultural Sector) for the city of Lachine. Most importantly, she loved and was loved.
The family will receive condolences on Friday, December 4, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 14:00 PM and 16:00 PM to 21h00PM and on Saturday, December 5, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM the J.J. Cardinal Funeral Home (2125 Notre-Dame Street, Lachine, QC H8S 2G5). The memorial service will follow the December 5 visitation, starting at 11:30, with a reception to follow, both at J.J. Cardinal. In lieu of flowers, donations to Welcome Hall Mission, Christian Blind Mission, or any charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
