November 16, 2023, aged 68.
Jacques Comeau lived an incredibly accomplished life – a life that included more than 45 years living as a quadriplegic. Despite his physical disability, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, then began his work career with a pharmaceutical firm and was later transferred to Toronto where he completed his Master’s degree in Human Relations. After 22 years in Toronto, he returned to Montreal, completed a degree in Art Therapy and worked 10 years as a counsellor helping others adjust to life after spinal cord injuries.
His passions and interests included: painting, driving and cars, travel, and enjoying the
outdoors.
Jacques was predeceased by his parents, Jacques and Margaret, and is survived by his seven siblings Janet (Peter), Louise (Rick), Kathy (Mike), Sue (Pierre), Elizabeth (Michel), Roch (Jennifer) and Bob as well as aunts, uncles and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Not to be overlooked are the many cherished friendships he leaves behind.
His family would like to express their appreciation for the compassion and care provided by his personal caregivers from CLSC.
For those who wish, Jacques has requested that in Memoriam Donations may be made to La Fondation Moelle épinière et motricité Québec where he worked for many years helping people living with disabilities achieve self-sufficiency and independence. https://www.moelleepiniere.com/
