1927 – 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Leonard William McArthur of Rockway Valley, Quebec.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gordona Phillips, sister-in-law Shirley McArthur, nee Labelle, niece Nancy, nephew Grant and wife Tracy, nee Fox, great nephews Spencer and Lochlan, and great niece Hannah. Also survived by nephews Phillip, Jeffrey and Gordon, and niece Victoria Reusing. To the Reusing family, Leonard was their hero who could do no wrong. Predeceased by his mother and father, Lizzie, nee Craig and Douglas, and his brother Morris, as well as his special friend and mother-in-law Bluebell Stewart Phillips.
Leonard was a member of Saint George Anglican Church where he acted as People’s Warden for many years. He worked on the family farm and at Wolf Lake where he made numerous good friends. Anyone who knew Leonard respected his work ethic and enjoyed his sense of humour.
When he retired, he came to Montreal and Dorval, where he made friends and enjoyed helping in activities at All Saints by the Lake Anglican church in Dorval. The family will receive condolences at J.J. Cardinal funeral home, 560 Lakeshore Drive, Dorval, QC, on January 10th from 9:30 to 10:30am, followed by a funeral service at All Saints by the Lake, 865 Lakeshore Drive, Dorval, QC at 11:00am, returning to the funeral home after for a reception.
