1925–2025
At the age of 100, Dorothy passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, after a long life well lived. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John McCormack (1919–2004), her son James McCormack, and her sister Joan Figg (1926–2024) of England.
Dorothy is lovingly remembered by her children John (Joan), Diane (Alan), Mary (Patrick), and by her daughter-in-law Sylvia. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren John (Heidi), Shannon, Grant, Kerri (Sean), Scott, Daniel (Andrea), Bruce (Daniela), Katherine (Nikhil), and Jennifer, as well as her eight cherished great-grandchildren.
A proud War Bride, Dot came to Canada in 1946 and built a full and meaningful life rooted in family, friendship, and service. She was an avid bridge player, a dedicated volunteer with St. Anne’s Veterans Hospital and NOVA, and was known for her love of entertaining, hospitality, and travel. Her warmth, resilience, and generosity touched all who knew her.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate and dedicated 2-est staff at Camille-Lefebvre, who provided exceptional care and kindness to Dorothy during the final years of her life.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
