Mrs. Jocelyne Bouthillier Wadden

Mrs. Jocelyne Bouthillier Wadden

1950-2024

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Jocelyne Bouthillier Wadden of Dorval, QC, who peacefully succumbed to cancer on September 14th, 2024, at the age of 73. After valiantly fighting the disease for over 25 years, Jocelyne’s battle ended following a short stay at the Palliative Care Center of Montreal’s Royal Victoria Hospital.

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Jocelyne will be dearly missed by her husband of 47 years, Kenneth Wadden; her children Stephanie Wadden (Moe Tabares), Lissa Wadden LaBrier (Sam LaBrier), and Michael Wadden (Christie Lovat); her grandchildren Clara, Rosa, Alexandra, Lincoln, and Charlotte; and her siblings Gilles Bouthillier (Louise), Nicole Bouthillier, Michel Bouthillier (Anita), and Roger Bouthillier (Jill). She will also be lovingly remembered by her extended family (Marilyn Wadden, Lloyd Wadden, Richard Wadden (Wanda), Elizabeth Wadden (Denys)), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends near and far.

Jocelyne is predeceased by her sister Louise Bouthillier (d. 1986) and her parents Germain Bouthillier (d. 1983) and Cécile Deshaies (d. 2004).

Jocelyne’s greatest joy in life was children—her own, her grandchildren, and those in her neighborhood and community. Born in Montreal, QC, and raised in Dorval, she spent most of her life in Pointe-Claire, QC, where she worked as an elementary school French teacher throughout the West Island. Her teaching career was marked by her legendary gentleness and love for every child she encountered, leaving behind a legacy of admiration and cherished memories for all who had the privilege of being in her classes.

Jocelyne leaves an indelible impression on all who knew her. Her courageous spirit, radiant smile, and compassionate heart captivated everyone she met. She dedicated her life to being available for others, whether through phone calls, quick cups of tea, family celebrations, or simple strolls by the lake. Jocelyne embraced all aspects of her life with enthusiasm and grace, and each person she knew was special to her.

Visitations to honor Jocelyne’s life will be held at JC Cardinal Funeral Home, 560 Bord-du-Lac-Lakeshore, Dorval, QC on Friday September 27th from 6 pm to 9 pm as well as Saturday September 28th from 10 a.m to 1 p.m .

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jocelyne’s memory to the Cedars Cancer Foundation of the MUHC. The family extends special thanks to the Cedars Cancer Clinic (Christine Legler, David M. Fleiszer) for their care and compassion over the years.
