It is with regret that we announce the peaceful passing of Maria Zerebecki Diachyshyn, on January 31st, 2026 at the age of 78, at the Centre d’hébergement de LaSalle (Montreal), Canada.

Daughter of Mikita Zerebecki and Tatiana Bishyk, Maria was a proud graduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing. A woman of profound conviction and tireless service, she dedicated her life, with compassion, to the care of others. My condolences to the whole family. Maria was a wonderful woman, a great nurse, and always helping others. I worked with her at Lachine General Hospital many years ago and saw her often at Summerlea Church where she volunteered for Meals on Wheels. We will miss her very much. Connie Osborne

My sincerest condolences to Eugene and the entire family on the loss of Maria.

I have known Maria for many years, and our youth brought us together often through our shared Ukrainian roots. She was a familiar and friendly face in our community, always kind and ready to help others.

Maria will be deeply missed. May she rest in God’s mighty kingdom.

    Memory Eternal — Vichnaya Pamyat.
