Mr. Edward Sydney Hopkins

Edward Sydney Hopkins, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 18th, 2018 at the age of 90.

Born in Calgary, grew up in Vancouver, graduated at UBC, then obtained his Masters degree at University of Toronto. He retired in 1986, after working as a meteorologist, first with the Air Force where he was stationed in Germany and then the federal government at the Canadian Meteorological Centre.

Ed enjoyed a very active retirement doing what he enjoyed most: swimming, golfing, gardening, volunteering and always curious to learn and try new things. He loved nature, was into the environment before it was fashionable, and loved camping. Most of all, no matter what he was up to, at the drop of a hat, he was always there for us.

Beloved husband for 58 years of Monique (nee Martin). Cherished by his daughter Carol and spouse Douglas Bender, his son Peter and spouse Kathy McDonald, and his precious granddaughters Madison and Karysa.

Special thanks to the wonderful nurses and staff at the St-Joseph Hospital for taking such good care of him.

He will be missed by many but never forgotten.
