1939 – 2025
Eugene Jean Kisak, a distinguished professor, engineer and mathematician with master’s and doctorate degrees from McGill University, passed away on September 13, 2025, at the age of 86, in Lachine (Montreal), Canada.
Born in France on June 5, 1939, Eugene dedicated his career to academic excellence as a University Professor at École Polytechnique de Montréal. His scholarly contributions included the publication of “Équations différentielles pour ingénieurs” in 2013, reflecting his commitment to advancing mathematical education for engineering students.
Beyond his professional achievements, Eugene was cherished as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His legacy continues through his surviving family: his wife Daria, children Alexander (Oksana) and Nadia (Sergio), granddaughter Melodie (Jack), sister Jeannette-Luba (Marc, Daniel), and brother-in-law George (Laressa, Anna, Peter). He was predeceased by his parents, Wasil and Stephania, and his sister Hélène.
The family would like to greatly thank Dr Geneviève Chaput and her entire fantastic team of the Lachine Hospital for their excellent care, time and dedication.
The academic community and all who knew Eugene are invited to honor his memory. Viewing will take place on Monday, September 22, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at J.J. Cardinal Funeral Home, 2125 Notre-Dame St., Lachine (Québec) H8S 2G5. A Mass will be held on September 23, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Basil the Great Ukrainian Church, 875 Rue Provost, Lachine, QC H8S 1M8.
