Eugene Jean Kisak, a distinguished professor, engineer and mathematician with master’s and doctorate degrees from McGill University, passed away on September 13, 2025, at the age of 86, in Lachine (Montreal), Canada.
Born in France on June 5, 1939, Eugene dedicated his career to academic excellence as a University Professor at École Polytechnique de Montréal. His legacy continues through his surviving family: his wife Daria, children Alexander (Oksana) and Nadia (Sergio), granddaughter Melodie (Jack), sister Jeannette-Luba (Marc, Daniel), and brother-in-law George (Laressa, Anna, Peter). He was predeceased by his parents, Wasil and Stephania, and his sister Hélène.
The family would like to greatly thank Dr Geneviève Chaput and her entire fantastic team of the Lachine Hospital for their excellent care, time and dedication.

Our deepest sympathies, Melodie and family. May his spirit be at rest and the memories you formed together live on forever. Sending love and comfort from Sarnia.
Our deepest sympathies, from the Kielbasa family. My parents have fond memories of spending time chatting and visiting with Eugene and Daria while in Florida. They send their condolences to the entire family.
Evhen has been a notable figure in our Lachine Ukrainian community for many decades. His passing brings us to reflect upon the wave of post WW2 immigration of Ukrainians to Canada. At this time, may fond memories resurface of Evhen’s generation that has effected parishioners of both St. Basil the Great and St. George’s in Lachine. We stand together with a history that will not be unforgotten. May Evhen rest in peace. Вічна йому пам’ять!
On behalf of the parishioners of the U.O.C. of St. George, we pass on our heartfelt condolences to the Kisak family.
