1945 – 2025
John Pickup, age 80, passed away on December 31, 2025, at the LaSalle General Hospital. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Mary (née Anderson); his two sons, Eric (Ann Carroll) and David; his sister, Sandra (Michel Veilleux); and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Joyce (James O’Brien) and his parents, Leslie and Una (née French).
John worked for the Royal Bank of Canada for several years in the Old Records department, and then for many years as a custodian with the Protestant School Board of Greater Montreal, later the English Montreal School Board.
He is remembered as a quiet, loyal man with a wry sense of humour, always dependable when it mattered most.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17 from noon to 1pm, at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church (25 12e Avenue, Lachine, QC, H8S 1B2) with the Eucharist service officiated by the Rev. Shirley Smith beginning at 1pm, and a light lunch to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Stephen’s Anglican Church would be appreciated.
