Mr. Joseph (Giuseppe) Ortuso

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Ortuso a proud retired firefighter after 30 years of service with the City of Montreal (Arrondissement de Ville St. Laurent) on April 22nd 2019 at the age of 68, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Beloved husband for over 44 years and best friend of Anita (nee Donaghy). Much loved and respected father of Melinda (Stefano), Domenico (Alison) and Amanda. Adored and devoted Grandpa to Alexa, Liam, Zayn, Alexis, Emma and Grace. He also leaves to mourn his brother Robert and sisters Antoinette, Carol and Gina (Sylvain). His sisters in law Irene (Florian), Karen and Christine (Bill). He will always be lovingly remembered by his many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. Joseph will also be fondly remembered by other relatives and his many friends. The family wishes to sincerely thank the doctors and staff at the MUHC and the West Island Palliative Care Residence for their exceptional care and compassion. Special thanks to his nurses Mary (Cedars Cancer) and Jennifer (CLSC).

The family will receive condolences at J.J. Cardinal Funeral Home, 560 Lakeshore Dr., Dorval, QC H9S 2B3 (514)631-1511, www.jjcardinal.ca on Friday May 3rd from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday May 4th from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. A service will be held in the Chapel of the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
