1944 – 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Yvan Hébert, affectionately known by his nickname “Bédaine”.
He passed away, surrounded by his loved one, on January 31, 2026, at the CHUM in Montreal. Yvan had recently celebrated his 82nd birthday.
A long-time businessman in the city of Lachine, he began his career at Snyder Automobiles before acquiring his own garage, Débosselage Dubé, in 1983.
Throughout his journey, he served as a mentor and advisor to many and was well-known for his great generosity.
He will be fondly remembered for his excellent sense of humor, the joy he took in teasing those close to him, and Joie de vivre.
He leaves behind his daughter Johanne (Tim Gadosy), his granddaughter Meighan Gadosy (Erik), and his grandson Sidney Gadosy (Yancy). He also leaves behind his partner Marielle Côté, her daughter Karine Martin, and Karine’s children, Colin and Cédric. He is also survived by Lise Joly, Johanne’s mother, his brother and sisters, nieces, nephews, friends, and former colleagues.
