Dorothy Amelia Bourgaize
April 26th, 1942 to July 15th, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother Dorothy Bourgaize on July 15th, 2021 in her 79th year. She passed peacefully with her children at her side in the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence, after a courageous battle with cancer. Loving mother of Natalie, Rodney (Joe Ann), Susan. Cherished Nanny to Lisa (Roberto), Steven (Steph), Ryan, Jordan and Zoey. Great grandmother to Giuliano and Giovanni. Dear Sister to the late Herman, to the late Lee (the late Chester), Basil (Zita), Marguerite, Sharon (the late Ashely) and Anthony (Annie). A memorial and funeral service will be held at a later date in Gaspe, Quebec.
Dorothy was a woman of great strength, bold character, who always thought of her family first. Her wit could make anyone laugh or pause, because you just never knew what she would say. Her love for her home town of Gaspe, was always carried closely in her heart. She will be dearly missed by everyone, her presence graced so many. We love you for always Mom, and we will never forget you.
The family would like to specially thank all the staff at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence, so many of them were touched by mom, it filled our hearts the care and attention they gave her and to us. They made us feel like a family while we stayed with mom in her last days. We send a special thank you to Odette, Dan (The Music Man) and to all the Doctors, Nurses, and PABs, from our heart to yours, we are forever grateful.
Mom requested no flowers, and asked that you donate to the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence in her memory. This placed allowed her to live with dignity, joy and love. It allowed us precious time, moments and memories that will forever fill our hearts.

A sad day for me today too she has gone to rest with my dear cousin Ted, My deepest sympathy to all the family, Thoughts and prayers are with you all RIP Dot.
So sorry for your loss, cherish all the wonderful memories that you had with your mom and family, they will help you through the tough times. She is always with you in your heart. I will miss her as well. I only have a few cherished memories of your mom. I remember her being very cheerful and she was very nice to me. She was such a good friend of my mother.
