Mrs. Rita Maak Furlotte

1930-2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rita Maak Furlotte, on October 18, 2023, at the age of 93 years.

Born Õie Maak, in Tallin Estonia, to Vera and Oscar Maak. Her father was an aristocratic doctor and after his passing she wished to follow in his footsteps and pursue a career in health care. At 16, she received the opportunity to move from Germany to Canada, to pursue her nursing career. She was married to Paul Furlotte, her beloved husband of 73 years before his passing in 2022.

She leaves behind her children Michael (Teresa) and Ann (Mario), her grandchildren Deana (Carlos), Michael Jr., Elisa (Johnny), Angela (Mario), Matthew (Amanda) and Amanda (Anthony), her twin brothers Peter and Rein Muhlbach, along with her great grandchildren Matthew, Capri, Michael, Sofia, and Mya along with nieces and nephews, friends, and family.

The family will receive condolences at J.J. Cardinal Funeral Home on Tuesday October 24 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday October 25, 2023, as of 9:00 a.m., followed by the celebration of her life in the chapel of the funeral home at 10:30 a.m.
