1933 – 2021
After a long battle with dementia, Marcel passed away on December 31, 2021. He was 88 years old. He is now reunited with his late wife of 60 years, Pauline Di Battista. Marcel is survived and will be missed by his children Suzanne (Serge), Daniel and Johanne and his grandchildren Patrick and Liisa.
Born and raised in Lachine, Marcel had a 30-year career at Fire Station 64 in Lachine before retiring at the age of 59. He loved sports and also playing on his keyboard, entertaining his family and relatives. He was always the life of the party at Christmas. His last 4 years were spent at The Savignon Residence in Lachine, where he made friends and enjoyed several activities. Marcel’s family is grateful for the care and compassion shown by all the workers at The Savignon in his final years and all the nurses and doctors at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Pointe-Claire.
A funeral service will not be held as per the family’s request. Should you wish, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
