M. Stephen Trottier

1973-2021

It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the sudden passing of Stephen Michael Trottier at the age of 48 years old, in Montreal, Quebec on October 17, 2021.Stephen is survived by his son, Ryan Trottier, daughter, Lily Trottier, sister, Christine Trottier
(Keith) and mother, Janet Miller Trottier (Lyle). He will be sadly missed by his aunts and uncles as well as by many cousins, nieces, nephews, workmates, and friends.

Stephen dedicated over 25 years at Lefebvre Inc./True Sports and was proud of his contribution to the hockey world with his knowledge and expertise in the needs of goaltenders throughout the NHL and beyond. Fan of the Montreal Canadiens, and a lover of all sports, including bowling, hockey and a good round of golf from time to time.
An avid Foo fighters fan Stephen also loved his music – all types. He had an abundance of
energy when he attended concerts with family and friends and made every experience something special to remember.
Stephen lit up any room he walked into and was always there to selflessly lend a hand in times of need and struggle. There are no words to describe how deeply missed he will be by all of the
people in his life.
We wish to extend our sincere gratitude to J.J. Cardinal in Dorval for their help and guidance in making this difficult time as comfortable as possible.

Stephen’s family extends an invitation to friends, colleagues and loved ones to honour his

” When I heard that he was gone I felt a shadow cross my heart.” My beloved brother in law and my very dear friend; you will be greatly missed. Our conversations and dialog over hockey and music were epic battles, cheering in unison and always so enjoyable. My heart is broken, however…. I will keep watch over your sister, your mother and Lily. And if Ryan needs us; we will be there. Love you brother; may you have peace. Say hello to your father and if you see my grandfather; tell him that he always be missed as well.

I met Stephan in high school where we became fast friends. My husband and Stephen also forged a friendship over a shared love of music and attended concerts and shows together. Over the years, we would lose touch and reconnect every 6 or 7 years, picking up exactly where we left off. Tomorrows taken for granted and lost time didn’t matter. Until now; and I wish I could remind Stephen just how much I appreciated our friendship over the last 30 years. My most sincere condolences to everyone who loved him. May you find peace in the moments you can and find comfort in the memories created together. Rest in peace, my friend, you will be sorely missed.

We were high school friends and I knew then that he was an old soul with a heart of gold. He was always kind, honest and truly listened even if he disagreed.
Stephen will be sorely missed and will remain forever in our memories and thoughts.
