Mrs. Catherine Kelly Lapierre

Mrs. Catherine Kelly Lapierre

1943-2024

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Catherine Kelly Lapierre on March 15, 2024. Kathy is survived by her best friend and husband of forty-nine years Norman Lapierre; her daughter, Kelly Rewbotham; her son, Dickson Rewbotham (Shannon) and her grandson, Brian Sproule.

Kathy spent most of her working career as a high school teacher at Bishop Whelan in Lachine where she applied as much enthusiasm to her work as she did to her life in general.

The family would like to extend special thanks to her doctor Thomas Tulandi for service above and beyond, to her caregiver Charity Sibanda as well as to all the dedicated CLSC and hospital caregivers and support staff for all their efforts.

Kathy’s full life cannot be summed up in a short summary but one thing is certain: Kathy, you will not be soon forgotten.

Visitation will be on March 25th from 2-4pm and from 7-9 pm at J J Cardinal Funeral Home, 2125 Notre Dame, Lachine.

In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to a charity of your choice.

My sincerest condolences go out to her family and friends. My memories of her at BW are fond ones and she also gave us the opportunity to be a part of glass club and we made stained glass. Sending prayers, love and thoughts to her loved ones.

Mrs. Lapierre was my math teacher at Bishop Whelan. Algebra was a struggle for me. Mrs. Lapierre always made herself available for ‘extra help’. She truly cared, and wanted her students to succeed. I will always appreciate her persistence and encouragement. My sympathies to Dickson and the rest of her family.

My sympathy goes out to you Norm. I was lucky to spend one year at BWHS and Cathy was such a wonderful, calm teacher. May she find peace.
