Mrs Lilian Lockey nee Egan

1920 – 2024

Peacefully at home, on Sunday May 26, 2024 at the age of 104, wife of the late Henry Frederick Lockey.

Dear mother of Lyn, Margaret and Richard (Sandra Easton), loving grandmother of 10 and a proud great mother. Survived by her sister Cicely (late George Cox), a large extended family in Canada and England and friends.

Lilian Egan was born in London, England. She was the eldest child, 7 siblings followed her.

She trained as a bookkeeper and worked until her marriage to Henry Lockey in 1942.

During the war she experienced the horrors of the blitz in London losing her home and all of her belongings to the bombing. She spent many nights sleeping in the underground air raid shelters.

In 1957 the family immigrated to Canada eventually settling in Lachine, where Lilian lived for many years after Henry’s death in 1987. Both were long time members of the Sons of Scotland Association where she was a secretary for many years. She was also a recording secretary of Falls O’ Clyde Camp.  Unable to live alone anymore Lilian moved to Dorval to be with her daughter Margaret.

Family is inviting family and friends on June 6th from 2 to 6 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at J.J. cardinal Funeral Chapel at 6 p.m.
