Mrs. Nicole Birs Lauzon

Mrs. Nicole Birs Lauzon

1934-2020

It is with heavy heart that the family of Nicole Birs Lauzon announces her passing on December 29th at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence in Pointe Claire following a courageous battle with cancer.  She was the loving wife of Raymond Lauzon for 54 years with whom she shared many adventures following him to many countries thanks to his work with Bell Canada.   Nicole was an avid skier and tennis player, a passionate Montreal Canadians’ fan who rarely missed a game on television.

Her son in law recognized in her a kindred soul when they first met 11 years ago.  They both had clear views on how things should be done; there was a right way and a wrong way.  Naturally they disagreed, even butted heads, but always within a framework of mutual respect and love.

Her daughter, Natalie, always knew that her mom was there for her and could call and talk.  She will miss that terribly.  And that is the most awful thing about death and loss, how complete and total it is.  We carry on, as we must, but the longing never really subsides.

She will be forever missed by her devoted daughter, Natalie (Forston) and her grandson, Kerner of Vancouver along with her siblings, Paulo (Véronique) and Denise (Maurice).  She was predeceased by her brother, Pierre (Marie-Josée).

Nicole was a long-time resident of Dorval where in earlier years she was a member of the Dorval Tennis Club, Saint-Veronica’s Seniors’ group,  dedicated volunteer of the Meals on Wheels program and  an active contributor to the Surrey Knitters. She leaves a legacy of love for her grandson and host of beautiful, hand knitted sweaters for him.  They will be tucked away for the day that he has children.

She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.   Special thanks to Nurse Louise Godbout of NOVA and Father Fred Kirouack of St. Veronica’s Parish.  Due to the pandemic restrictions, a funeral service will be held at a later date when family and friends can safely gather.

Contributions in her memory can be made to NOVA West Island or the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence.
