1953–2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald Cheyne on July 17, 2026, in Montréal.
Gerald was the beloved son of the late Alex and Janie Cheyne; the cherished brother of the late Douglas and the late Gordon, his twin brother; and brother-in-law of Betty Anne. He will be fondly remembered by his cousins Sandra, the late David, Lesley, Bruce, Jimmy, and Nancy, as well as many relatives and friends whose lives he touched.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, July 30, 2026, beginning at 1:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of life at 2:30 p.m. at J.J. Cardinal Funeral Home, 2125 Notre-Dame Street, Lachine QC.
A short graveside service and interment will take place on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Mount Royal Cemetery, 1297 chemin de la Forêt, Montréal QC.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Gerald’s memory to AVATIL, 387 40th Ave., Lachine, QC H8T 2E7, would be sincerely appreciated.
