1932-2023
It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our precious wife, mom and Nonna, Carmela Giannini DeFrancesco, on June 12th, 2023, at the age of 90. She was a true warrior fighting every battle with strength and courage.
Predeceased by her eldest son Giacomo, she leaves behind her beloved husband of almost 70 years, Nicola, son Giuseppe (Tina), daughter Tina (Tony) and her grandchildren Nicola, Alexandra and Matthew, as well as all her extended family.
The family will receive condolences at J.J. Cardinal Funeral Home, 2125, rue Notre-Dame,
Lachine on Wednesday, July 5th from 7-9pm.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 6th at 11:00am at Missione Dell’Annuziata Church, 4360 Broadway, Lachine, thence to Notre-Dame des-Neiges Mausoleum.
We would like to thank all of her incredible caregivers at Centre Bayview for their love and
devotion.

What an extraordinary lady, always with her husband by her side, they made being in love so beautiful…she will always be remembered by all.

There is an emptiness at Bayview now that I feel intensely. Your mom’s spunk and energy were inspirational. I will never be able to hear ‘That’s Amore’ sung by Dean Martin without thinking of Carmela and hearing her sing along. She is deeply missed. My sympathies and thoughts are with you all!
