1958 – 2020
On August 29, 2020, after a long illness, Chiara Monteferrante peacefully passed away at the West Island Palliative Care Residence. Beloved mother of Nando Antonelli, cherished daughter of Anna Sabatino, and dear sister of Maria Monteferrante. She is also survived by her nephews Christopher Harty (Shamimara), Stephen Harty (Ariane) and Michael Harty, as well as extended family members and friends in Canada and Italy. Chiara was predeceased by her father Giuseppe Monteferrante (1998) , her step-father Giuseppe Tuzzolini (2006) and her brother-in-law Brian Harty ( 2004).
The family will receive condolences at J.J. Cardinal Funeral Home, 560 Lakeshore Drive, Dorval, H9S 2B3, (514-631-1511) on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, 2-5pm, and 7-9pm. A funeral mass will take place the following day, Thursday, September 3, 2020, at 11h30 am, at St. Veronica’s Church, 1300 Carson Avenue, Dorval, H9S 1M6. Burial to follow at a later date.
In recognition of the outstanding and compassionate care Chiara received, in lieu of flowers, donations to the West Island Palliative Care Residence would be gratefully appreciated by her family.

My dear cousin fascinated me with her long hair and sweet yet ironic smile when I was a child… When we visited over the years I could not but admire her marvellous personality… Adversity made her tough yet never bitter… She was still sweet and funny and didn’t complain… I will never forget our last family lunch, nor will my children or Marcelo…you welcomed us warmly in your home and fed us and it felt good. My son Julian wanted to come visit alone and stay at your place because you were nice and cooked better than me… Chiara, you will be sorely missed. I can still here you laugh… You were someone to admire, an example to us all. I wish life had been kinder to you… Rip and all my love to Zia, Maria, Nando
