It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Cristina Fatu on November 27, 2020.
She leaves to mourn her beloved husband Alexandru Stoica, her adored daughter Maya Andrea, her mother Aurora and brother Aurelian (Laura) along with her extended family and many friends and colleagues in Canada, Romania and the United States.
Due to the current circumstances relating to the pandemic, a private funeral will be held by invitation only.

My deepest Sympathy on the suddenDeath of Cristina. To me she was way more than a Landlady, she was a very special person. I already miss our little talks on Sunday afternoon.

No words could explain the feelings of loss… I don’t believe that time is the best doctor, it doesn’t reduce the pain of loss, but it is teaching us how to continue our life and how to coop with this loss.

I first met Cristina when she returned from maternity leave and ousted me from the desk I had been borrowing until that point. I quickly learned that she was not a person to trifle with. It wasn’t until she moved up the hill to Medicine that I really stared to get to know her. Her wit made our daily “coffee meetings” more enjoyable. She will be remembered every time I brew another coffee. I extend my warmest condolences to Alex, Maya, Family and Friends.

Cristina was such a pleasure to work with, generous with her time and expertise, patiently listening and interpreting my fuzzy goals into a project we were both proud of, so funny and calm as she sat at my desk. I will miss her as a dependable colleague. My deepest condolences to her husband, daughter, family and friends who had the honour of knowing her well.
