1949-2022
It is with profound sadness and shock to announce the sudden passing of a beautiful mother, sister, aunt. She is pre-deceased by her parents (Antonio and Anna) her late brother, Pietro, late husband Mr. Werner Duwel.
She leaves a huge void in our hearts, her son and love Karl Duwel, adoring sisters Franca, Lena (Paul) baby sister Angie. Nephews Isaac, Tristan, A.J. family and dear friends especially BFF, Ms Iva D’Ascanio whom she treasured, respected, and shared many stories together…MANY
Maria has been at Centre Camille Lefebvre for the past 8yrs after suffering a severe stroke. She was surrounded by an exceptional staff of caring individuals, her favorites Margaret and Mina. Her eyes did the speaking for her and her smile contagious…she was loved by everyone there. Maria was well known for her hard work. Left a legacy in so many people’s lives hiring all the Italians in Lachine whom respected her and she them. Always a proud perfectionist, she was the best glass cutter around.
I used to tell her at the center…sei la bossa dei bicchieri, she would laugh so hard, it was fun times. R.I.P. our mother and sister…know that our love for you is immense.
Family will receive condolences at J. J. CARDINAL Funeral Home 2125 Notre Dame st Lachine H8S 2G5, on Wednesday Dec. 7 from 6 to 9pm.
Funeral will be held in the Chapel on Thursday December 8, at 12:00 thence to Côte des Neiges Mausoleum.
