Mr. William Paul McDuff

1950-2022

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of William (Bill) in his sleep on September 25, 2022 at the age of 72 years old.

He is survived by his wife Johanne, sister Bernadette, brother Gerald, many nieces and nephews and friends.  Predeceased by brothers Edmond, Leonard, Ernest, Raymond and sister Theresa.  Born in Moncton, Bill came to Montreal in 1965 and had a 35-year career at CP Rail.  He retired at the age of 55 and since then pursued many of his interests.

He was an avid music lover, metal detectorist, stamp collector, enjoyed gardening and cooking.  He had dabbled in martial arts and tai chi.  Always curious about everything.  He was a very social person and enjoyed the company of others, always seeing the lighter side of things kidding around.

Visitation will take place October 15 from 1-4pm at J. J. Cardinal Funeral Home, located at 560 Lakeshore Drive, Dorval, QC H9S 2B3

In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of choice.

Valerie and I were so sad to hear about Bill’s passing. He was truly one of the good guys. When we got transfered to Montreal Bill showed me the ins and outs at CP. We became good friends during our time in Montreal. Great evenings at Bill’s place or out with the CP gang. Over the years we stayed in touch by email or phone to catch up. Johanne, our sincere condolences. John and Valerie

Bon courage!

It is with heavy hearts that we say Adieu to our dear neighbour Bill. He will always be remembered for his warmth, his smile, and his care for others. When we moved in, he and Johanne both made us feel so welcome, and our 3 girls always loved to run outside and greet him in his red suspenders and exchange a joke and a tale of the day. Throughout the pandemic he would check in on me regularly to encourage me and my fellow hospital staff to carry on, and his support meant so much in those difficult times. Adieu dear Bill, a warm soul taken too soon. xo Emilie, José, Lila, Mariela and Inès
