Mrs. Rita Hoelscher nee Legault

1933-2023

Rita Hoelscher (nee Legault) died on Wednesday December 13th after a four and a half year stay in the Camille-Lefebvre CHSLD in Lachine. Predeceased by her loving sweetie and husband Ralph (Ralphie) Hoelscher. She leaves her grieving children Lynn, Carroll, Danny, Gordon (Simonetta), Mary-Anne and her grandchildren Karl (Tomoyo), Jessica (Steve), Julia, Matthieu (Sarah), Joel (Emily), and Mélissa (Olivier), as well as great grandchildren Victor and Yuki. Predeceased by brother Gérald and her sister Madeleine, and survived by her sisters Rolande, Ghislaine and Jacqueline, her in-laws, and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Rita dedicated her life to her husband and children choosing to be a stay-at-home mom. She also assisted her loving husband in the success of his projects and business. Always there for her husband and children, she provided a nurturing home environment taking care of all her family’s needs. This included frequent visits to other family member’s home where nieces and nephews grew close to her own children. Rita loved to host family parties none more than the traditional Christmas Eve Réveillons when all her side of the family gathered in Pointe-Claire. Excursions to Belmont Park, Expo 67 and swimming pools were always on tap for fun outings. She also organised beautiful trips and unforgettable cruises for her whole family. Rita was lovingly serving lunches during school years when returning from school for lunch was the norm. Summers were spent at various campsites allowing for the appreciation of natural settings.

A loving wife to her cherished husband, Rita and Ralph were the typical Québecois snowbirds spending some 30 winters in Florida. Summers in the 80s were spent developing the aptly named Joie de Vivre campsite, because indeed Rita was full of love and joy. She loved life and loved all those around her. Rita was strong, patient, devoted, hardworking, and really knew how to enjoy life.

Farewell dearest Rita, most beloved mother!

The family will welcome you on January 6th, 2024 to receive condolences from10 to 11 am, at l’Église Ste-Geneviève situated at 16037 Boul Gouin O, Sainte-Geneviève, QC, H9H 1C7. There will then be a mass at 11 am, followed by a luncheon in the reception hall in the same building.
